Ivan Kapec djeluje u različitim glazbenim okruženjima. Ovdje su neka od njih:
CAPISCONNE
Capisconne je space – jazz sastav iz Zagreba, Hrvatska. Nastao je iz želje da se spoje kompleksnost jazz improvizacije, prijemčljivost klubske elektronike i ljekovitost ambijentalne glazbe. Glavne karakteristike njihove glazbene sintakse su melodične teme, pseudo-disko ritmovi i space lounge atmosfere.
KOZMODRUM
Organic dance music, live elektronika kojeg vodi bubnjar Janko Novoselić. “We call it Organic Dance Music, but you can call it whatever you like. Music vocabulary, taken from styles such as Techno, House, Jungle and Dubstep, is used to create new structures. At the same time, the tradition of jazz ensemble playing is seamed in to the architecture of what musicians in Kozmodrum use to work out the beats and music.”
SONIC DIPTYCH
„Sonic Diptych“ tj. Borko Rupena na bubnjevima i udaraljkama te Ivan Kapec na gitari. Ovaj duo bazično oslonjen na tradiciju jazza nesmetano koristi i obrasce rock i pop glazbe na način na koji pruža i gotovo nameće ovakav ogoljeli instrumentarij. Tako se stvara glazba puna energije i bizarnosti, okovana i slobodna u istoj slici – zvučnom diptihu. Dečki su do sad objavili dva albuma „Be way“ i „Georgica“ a u pripremi je i trećI.
SUNRISE SESSIONS
Radikalno istraživanje glazbene improvizacije. “Sunrise Sessions composed of top musicians who founded the band in order to approach to an open border of possibility in the music live acts.. Using the technique of “instant” of composing, which takes place in the course of the performance, the musicians enter into an enchanted area where, Deleuzian say, “becoming, form, structure and organization are only the ways in which vital fluid and heterogeneous nature of passing becomes associated, bound, caught or slow, to the point where its movement is almost no longer visible. ” What genre retrieves the course, which originates somewhere in the jazz-rock fusion, flows through the house, broken beat and drum ‘n’ bass rhythm, and empties into the wondrous ocean progressive and indie rock, greatly depends on the audience and the ambience in which is held gig. Therefore, the performances of Sunrise Sessions always are unforeseeable and challenging.”
